I am a beginner, will you be able to teach me to sew and make my own clothes?
- Yes, every beginner is someone special to me. With lots of patience
and love, we can make it work.
I have taught myself to sew, thus I am used to doing things my own way.
Is it really necessary to start with the beginners course?
- I really recommend the beginners course because
of all the detail involved, such as the preparation, lay out of patterns,
cutting, grading and smaller detail is very important. Articles will
never look home made!
Do I really have to use the Sew Easy patterns?
- Yes, our patterns are very users friendly.
Will I be able to read and use other commercial patterns after completion
of the beginners course?
- Yes, if you are serious about your sewing, and successfully completed
the course.
I would really like to attend the underwear course, but I have little
experience in sewing. What is recommended?
- Like I always say: “Babies first learn how to crawl, and then
still need a helping hand before they learn to walk steadily on their
own”. The underwear class is one of the more advanced courses.
One will need to know the different stitches and be comfortable with
one’s sewing machine. It is recommended to first do less advanced
courses before we have lots of fun in the underwear class.
I would like to make my own bra. Is it necessary to attend
the underwear class first?
- Our underwear course involves specific techniques which will be needed
to complete a bra.
Is it necessary to own a sewing machine?
- Yes. Homework will be given when attending a course. I do have extra
machines that you may borrow if you don’t have your own sewing
machine. This will help you to decide what kind of machine you are comfortable
with and what features you want to look for when purchasing your own.
Do I really have to do homework?
- You might not be open to this idea, seeing that you are no longer
a scholar, but I assure you that your time is your own and the homework
involved will make your class time much more worthwhile.
Am I going to get a lot of homework?
- No, the time you spend with your sewing is entirely up to you. Homework
is given to help you be more comfortable with your machine. Therefore
the time each student spends on homework will vary.
